My friend has been RAVING over the omusubi here.. and they did not exaggerate! The beef & onions and the sweet & sour chicken balls were so incredible and a nice reward after a hot day at the beach! Will be craving these forever now!

I love Sunny Blue. It’s perfect for a quick bite—grab one onigiri as a snack or a few for a full meal. I’ve tried most of the menu, and my go-tos are the Miso Beef, Chicken Curry, and Spicy Salmon, but you really can’t go wrong. There’s no seating—order at the counter and take it to go. I usually walk a block or two to the beach park and eat there, which makes it even better. It’s great for kids, reasonably priced, and surprisingly filling for the quality. The owner is a gem, the staff is always kind, and service is quick even when there’s a line. A true Santa Monica staple and absolutely worth trying.

This place is a GEM. Love the food, deliciousness in the palm of your hand. Great service, friendly and attentive. The only bad thing is that you have to think you are eating on a foodtruck. So you have to order and then eat standing outside. But don’t be fooled about this. The flavors are out of chart. I have more than 12+ going there and consistence is key.

my favorite omusubi spot!! they have the best cheap eats, taste amazing everytime, and the staff are always very friendly! i usually get the sunnyblue curry and spicy salmon :) highly recommend to check out if you're in the area

Made to order omusubi?!? 🤯 We were still a bit hungry after a near by lunch and saw everyone walking around the street with fresh omusubi, so it was decided we had to drop in! This quaint little shop is packing a big punch with made to order omisubi and boba drinks. We had such a hard time deciding which to try, as they all looked good, but landed on the pork belly, spicy tuna, and a boba ice tea. Wow!! The rice was perfectly warm and the seaweed was so fresh and crunchy. The toppings brought in so much flavor as well, making each omusubi unique. You could feel the love. Definitely will be stopping by this location more this summer, as this was the perfect light bite and their tea was hitting just right.
